Thanksgiving, 2012 God is Great!

Today I want to share how much I love my Heavenly Father. God chose the Kickstarter journey to teach me a lesson on surrender. Traci and I did everything we could to draw people to our platform – asking, seeking, knocking, praying, and fasting. Then, we did it again and again – exhuasting ourselves and everyone else for that matter. We went into this journey thinking it was a slam–dunk (after all it was for God, how could it not be?). That wasn’t the case. God chose to use this journey to teach us a lesson. Two weeks in, we realized we had to completely turn it over to God. There was nothing more we could humanly do. We had to step back and trust God. One would think that doing nothing would be easy but, for me, it was one of the hardest things I’ve done.  I gave complete – 100% – control to God and drew nearer to Him in prayer, trusting Him no matter what the result. I believe this is exactly what He wanted for me in the first place.  I didn’t need to exhaust myself those first two weeks with worry and sleepless nights to repeat efforts that yielded little results. Like Ishnabobber, I continue to learn and grow.  I want to encourage everyone to take a leap of faith, step out of your comfort zone and see what God can do when you fully rely on Him. We did what we could do and then left the rest to our Father. Ishnabobber Books funded – PTL! More though than the funding, I am thankful for the lesson.

Doing nothing the last two weeks allowed me to rest. It wasn’t a physical rest; it took effort to do nothing. It was like floating and allowing God to be my flotation device.

Thank you Lord for showing me what full surrender feels like. I love you!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
